Cartwheel Cottage is located on a traditional Northumbrian working farm. Although the farm is a hub of activity throughout the year, the enviable rural location means your always a world away from the stresses and strains of modern life.

Cartwheel Cottage provides the ideal base for your visit to Northumberland whatever the season.

In Spring, life is abundant around the farm steading, with lambs racing up and down the dyke backs as skylarks sing high above them. The rest of the countryside coming alive also, with leaves of many different shades of green appearing on trees and hedgerows and wild flowers beginning to show themselves in fields and meadows.

On a warm summers evening, you can relax in the garden where the air is heavy with the scent of honeysuckle and sweet peas, here you can sit and watch one of our spectacular sunsets.

Autumn truly Northumberland's most picturesque season - with the changing of the leaves from green to a multitude of shades of gold, the purple blanket of heather on the hills and the waving heads of golden corn waiting to be harvested, gorgeous autumnal days will provide scenic memories to last a lifetime.

Then we come to Winter, frosty mornings, beautiful blue skies and stunning views of spectacular countryside. The season for the walker - And mugs of hot chocolate!
